desktop shortcut

I need to create a shortcut on the desktop for a
connection to a website that stores username and
password. How is this done? Is this possible using 'new
network place?'

You can rightclick in your desktop area, point to
new/shortcut.
Type in the URL and give it a name and click OK.
However, since the latest MS patch, you can no longer
save the username/password into the URL. You will have to
logon manually every time.
