Description text in center to show on same slide for another 6 sec

Aloha--Help please. I am using Power Point 2007.

I have 100 slides in a PP presentation, it is set up for each slide to show
for 6 seconds.

I now have text with descriptions of each slide. I would like to add this
description text in the center after 6 seconds by slowly appearing on this
same slide showing in background and then moving on to the next slide doing
the same, for all the slides. I'm not sure how to do this--once this is done
I would like to transfer program to a dvd with music in background.

Thank you for any suggestions you may have. Take care.

Onaona,
So the slide transition time is 6 seconds and you want the descriptive text
to appear while the slide is waiting to transition, within those 6 seconds?
Insert your descriptive text, put it in the middle of the slide, apply an
entrance effect like Fade or Dissolve to it in the custom animation task
pane. Format it to appear with previous, double click the entry and on the
timing tab choose an appropriate speed. You can choose from the standard
speeds very fast, fast and so on or type the speed you want in the box. It
will need some experimenting to get it just the way you want. Once one
textbox is formatted you can copy paste it to the other slides, select the
text and type the new text in.
If I misunderstood what you are after, just post back.

Aloha Luc,

Thanks for your help, you understood me perfectly.

I was able to to do what you shared--another question is, after slide
appears for 6 seconds and then text fades in, How do I keep both this text
and slide showing in background to stay on longer. As it is, slide comes on,
then text fades in, unfortunately only a short time (I'm not sure how to
control time) before going on to next slide. I've been trying to figure it
out, no solution.

Thank you also, for your suggestion of copy/pasting format to other slides,
that will save precious time. Every slide is to be set up the same way, slide
appear, text to fade in with both slide and text to stay on for another 6
seconds and then on to the next slide and so on. Is there possibly a way to
copy and paste the animation effects?

Onaona,
What I would do is insert a shape for instance a rectangle, format it to
have no fill and no border so it is virtually invisible, apply an entrance
effect like appear, double click the entry and set: after previous and a
time delay of 6 seconds . If you put that as the last animation in the list
it will appear as if the slide is waiting 6 seconds to transition.
As to the copying of animation, this add-in could help:
