The "Disk Management Services" component sets up two services among other
things. Each service depends on the "PlugPlay" service, which is handled by
the "PnP (User Mode)" component.
The problem, IMO, is that even though the "Disk Management Services" at
runtime depends on "PlugPlay", there is nothing at the component level that
sets that dependency.
Shouldn't there be a dependency. Aren't the "Disk Management Services"
useless because they won't start until the "PlugPlay" Service AKA "PnP (user
Mode)" component is added to the image ?
FYI. To limit the amount pulled in by the "PnP (User Mode)" component I've
disabled the Resources "Dependency upon 'umpnpmgr.dll'" and the CD-ROM
mounting works.
