Deleting Temporary Internet Files

I tried Internet Explorer > click on Tools > Internet
Options > General Tab > Delete Files

It did not delete any files as far as I could tell.

Files from sites I had just visited for the first time are
still in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files\ (425mb).

The recycle bin does not contain any recently deleted
files (I emptied the recycle bin just before the "Delete
Files").

What did "Delete Files" accomplish?

I am running Internet Explorer6 on windows2000.

Thank you.

You need to set IE to check for new location of temporary files. At the
General tab, Click Setting button. Check for newer versions of stored pages
"Automatically". Click OK.

Deletes files will delete most of the temporary internet
files but not all. the index.dat file in this folder
still hold information of the all the url you have visited
therefore you still see some file in temporary internet
fold. try to manually delete them.
