Printer was running ok. Printed one page and then realised it had to be
changed, so turned off the printer. This job is then unfinished, but cannot
do anything with it, cannot delete/pause. Can delete the printer, and then
re-install but the job remains. Cannot print anything else as this is in the
queue, and no, pausing doesnt work. Any idea how I can delete the spool ?
I've done a search for this job/file, but it produces nothing searching on
*.* Is the only option to try a windows re-installation ? My printer is an
old one that cannot use its own software/drivers, so i've had to use windows
xp. Got it to work, but don't ask me how.

Try the following,

Go to the Control panel, select Printers and other hardware,
click Printers and Faxes,
Highlight the printer,
in the left side select - see what's printing,
click Printer and select - Cancel all documents.

managed to delete the file, after deleting printer several times and
rebooting. Still cant print though !

First make sure your PC is properly connected to the
printer then go to the printer itself and switch it off
once and switch it on again. This is to ensure that
anything in the printer's memory is zapped completely.

If you have a networked printer then you might have to do
this several times depending on how many print jobs are
in the print queue.

Hope his works.
