When i tried to reinstall a fresh copy of XP, I
unfortunately installed just a second copy, so now i have
a copy in my D: drive (which is not my real hard drive)
and the old copy still there in my C: drive. How can i
remove both copies and start from scratch? Please e-mail
me the answer. It's XP home edition full version - not
the upgrade or anything

We tend not to e-mail.

Boot with your XP CD and follow the instructions here
http://www.blkviper.com/Articles/OS/InstallXPHome/installxphome1.htm
In sections 5, 6, 7 just make certain that you delete each partition
displayed. You will then create 1 partition. Format it as NTFS - Do not use
the Quick Format if offered. Once you have deleted your partitions, created
a new partition and formatted the installation will continue. Once XP is
installed you should ensure you turn on XP's firewall to prevent getting hit
by the Blaster worm. Get your Antivirus up and running with the latest
definitions before you setup your e-mail account. Also install the service
pack and hotfixes from the Windows Update Site. After the updates run Defrag
then finish setting up your system
