deleted user and lost files!!!

This past weekend, I had one of our computers upgraded to XP home and decided that since it was now being used by only one person, that I could eliminate the user sign on screen. What I didn't realize was that after deleting my daughter's account from the computer, we would no longer be able to access any files in the old My Documents folder

I have tried searching for some of these files to no avail(including looking for hidden files). Please someone out there tell me that I haven't srcewed up royally and permantly deleted files....

I saw a reference to a program called Undelete on another thread, as well as mention of outside restoration services. Would something like this help me?

The files were almost positively deleted, unfortunately. I would suggest
downloading an undeletion program, such as Easy Recovery Pro and trying to
recover what you can.

Unfortunately removing a user removes all their files.
You could look under c:\document and settings\username\my documents\
but I think the user name will have gone.
