Hi
I somehow managed to delete all my contacts & all of my emails. I have
restored the file from my recycle bin but am unable to open it. File comes up
as "outlook.pst" (office data file) & when i try to open it, it is unable to
find the right programme to open the file. Any help would be gratefuly
received, but please remember I am a technothick, so plain english please.
Many thanks in advance

You can't open a PST file by double clicking it. Can you just put it back in
the directory it was originally in? What version of Outlook are you using?

Hi, unable to put it back in the directory, version is 2000 sr -1

In Outlook, click on File -> Open -> Outlook Data File and browse to the
..PST.

That's File>OPen>Personal Folders File for the OP's version of Outlook.
