"delete junk email" option not available in outlook 2007. Why?

Using Vista, and have Outlook 2007. When items are sent to junk email
folder, I click into the folder to make sure everything in there is junk.
When I right-click on the folder, there is an option (which I have used for
years in earlier versions of Outlook) to Delete "Junk E-mail", but the option
is always grayed out. Is there a way to fix this?

You cannot delete any of the default folders and the Delete option will always
be grayed out for those folders. Right-click Inbox or Calendar. You'll see
the same thing. In other words, you can't "fix" it because it's not broken.
