I really want to know how to turn off the little message display at the
status bar(bottom) in word 2000 that says " Delete Block No (Yes)? so I can
delete from the key "delete"(keyboard).

This is caused by WordPerfect option settings. Go to Tools>Options>General
and uncheck
"Help for WordPerfect Users" and "Navigation keys for WordPerfect Users."

Searching the forum for "delete block", a bazillion entries came up. I found
this solution: In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two
boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.

Tools > Options > General
Uncheck both options having to do with Word Perfect.
