How do I turn off delete blocked in W2003

In Word 2003 I get a message in the task bar "delete block? No (Yes)" when I
try to use my delete key to delete text. How do I turn off "delete block" so
I can use my delete key?

In Tools > Options > General, uncheck both options that mention
WordPerfect.
