Reset "Delete" Option, so i dont have to answer yes/no each time

K

KiwiKev

This has just started happening for some reason, everytime i highlight some
text, in either Word or Microsoft Outlook and i click the Delete Key, I now
have to answer a " Delete Block? No (Yes) " question that appears on the
bottom status bar by clicking a "Y" to complete the deletion, everytime, and
its driving me crazy.

Before this happened, I Only had to Click the "Delete" key Once, and the
highlighted text would dissapear straight away, in both programs, Word and
Outlook.

Can anyone help me with the fix for this. I have checked Tool>Options, but
can not find anything that talks about the Delete Function or Key and
Highlighted Text or even a Delete Key Help.

In Tools > Options > General, uncheck both options that mention WordPerfect.

This was a mostly misguided attempt to make former WordPerfect users happy with
Word by letting them use more familiar keystrokes. The confirmation dialog for
block deletions was something even WordPerfect had long ago dropped from their
product as unnecessary and annoying.

Hi Jay,
Thank You very much, i had a feeling it was something simple like a setting
or option, but when you don't know where it is or what its called, it's very
frustrating, not to mention annoying every time i had to answer with the Y
for yes.
Again Thanks very much Jay, you've helped restore some of my sanity, I hope
you have a great Christmas and a Hapy New Year for 2009.
