Delegate Configuration Rules

I have a user set up as a delegate for her superior (with send on behalf
privileges). Though e-vites and meeting requests are being received by both
parties (and is being accepted or rejected by the superior)...my questions
are:

(1) Once the superior has accepted a meeting request etc. and it posts to
the calendar - is it not supposed to remove it automatically from the
delegates inbox (or view) ?

(2) When the person assigned as a delegate removes the message from his or
her inbox (after verifying that the message has been accepted and
posted)...it DELETES it completely from the calendar of the superior.

Is this the way that the Delegation feature is supposed to operate ? Can
someone kindly educate me on the major aspects/functionality of this feature,
and on any suggestion(s) that they may have to help me eradicate this issue?

Thanks in advance.

If you're using Outlook 2003, you should apply Service Pack 2, which addresses most scenarios related to #2.
