I had trouble finding my own post in this newsgroup using Internet Explorer,
so I set up this newsgroup in Outlook Express (following the instructions on
the MS community website). However, when I check the headers for this
newsgoup in OE they seem to be about 11 hours behind the ones visible in
Internet Explorer.

Is there some way to get up-to-date messages from the newsgroup in Outlook
Express?

Hi Abbi,

Bad timing. The servers that host the NNTP access to these groups (which is
how Outlook Express accesses them) has been down. The problems are being
addressed and you should be able to catch back up sometime soon.

Abbi, I usually see only a 5-10 minute delay. But about 22 hours ago, things
got really backed up. I think there was a hacker, as well, as the General
forum had been renamed:
" alt.politics,microsoft.public.windowsxp.general,alt.destroy
..microsoft"
Bizarre, but not a frequent occurrence. One poster said the slowdown was
partly a result of people seeking help with the SWEN virus.

There can be delay in getting posts from the server where posted onto
the master servers. Usually only a few minutes, but under the flood of
posts of virus attachments in the past few days this has been higher.
Then yesterday (about 24 hours ago) the master servers had to be taken
out of use and rebuilt - so quite a lot of posts vanished and need to be
repeated.
