Default Browser/Newsgroup Settings Prompt

I have XP SP2, IE, Outlook 2003, and Outlook Express. Everytime I reboot my
laptop the settings for my default newsgroup (OE) disappear and when I start
OE it states that it's not my default newsgroup reader... This also happens
for IE but only ONCE IN A GREAT while.

I went to "set program access and defaults" and I went to TOOLS> INTERNET
OPTIONS > PROGRAMS several times to try to correct this. I can't make these
settings stick. HOW do I?

Are you sharing a store via another profile/operating system? Have you
merged older keys/info?

It's a laptop with XP HOME on a network with another PC that has XP PRO.
