I have Windows XP Home SP2. AMD 2800+, 2.5 G Ram, MSI 6800GT, SBLive, 500W
PS, and when I tried to defrag my hard drive the window opened with no
problem and I clicked on analyze and nothing happened, so I clicked it again,
still nothing. I tried every drive and it would not worl. Stop, pause, and
view report is grayed out. There is no error message. It just dosent work.
Also while trying to troubleshoot this I went to the help and support page
and clicked on tools and as I wasn't sure what I was looking for I clicked on
advanced system info. Then selected view advanced sys. info. and I opened
most of the items on the list. For example, I opened hardware resourses and
conflicts sharing, then selected DMA, IRQ,I/O, I opened almost all. I found
no information listed on any menu item. It wasn't grayed out it just wasn't
there. I have no idea when this may have happened. I have loaded several
programs before being aware of this problem. I have sience looked every where
I could think of even the knowledge base. Either I wasn't smart enough to
come up with the right key words or the problem doesn't exist on this forum.
Anyone have any suggestions besides restoring. I'll do that if I have to but
would like to find what caused this. Thanks.
