XP defrag gone?

3 nights ago upon shutdown Windows forced several updates.The next morning I
tried to run my defrag and got the following message.....

MMC cannot open file C:\WINDOWS\system32\dfrg.msc

I did a system restore to try to get it back but no go.I have tried a few
other options suggested by friends but nothing works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.I defrag frequently as it seems to
help my comp run quicker.....

Microsoft has only one kb article on that,read kb922379
Or,maybe run Sfc /Scannow In cmd prompt...
