I get the error: "Disk Defragmenter cannot continue
prescan because there is corruption in file: C:\System
Volume Information\_restore{5CCCB59D-4E88-AB06-
2DDF49A9B4DB}\RP233" How hosed am I, and what can I do
to restore this file? Thanks, Bob

Bob,

Please try the following:

- Go to the MSDOS command prompt and issue the following command: CHKDSK /F
/R C:
- Say "yes" to perform at next reboot
- Reboot your system
- Pay close attention to CHKDSK as it runs through it's 5 stages. Does it
find/fix any errors?
- After Windows reboots, rerun the defragmenter. Do you still get this
error? If so, turn off System Restore temporarily and retry defrag and then
re-enable System Restore when finished
