Definition version not changing

I just went to windows update to get the latest def. and they updated
sucessfuly according to windows update. The problem is the version isn't
changing in the program, it still lists the old def. and says they are 14
days out of date. I've rebooted the computer after the update and it still
shows the old version. I looked for the new file but couln't find where
windows put it or for that matter the old one either. I had turned off
autoupdate because the new update kept saying it was ready to install even
after it was supposedly installed successfuly. What to do now?

but i don't remember if I rebooted afterward but this morning it changed to
the right ver. so I guess it worked. Thanks for the reply.
