After yesterday's fiasco, I'm not too surprised that no one has posted the
new defs yet. But I can personally attest to the validity of the update as
it's running on my system.<g>

and after upgrade to Vista Home Premium on my laptop thru the express
upgrade option of Vista Launch from the OEM H-P I discovered WIN Defender
does not update because of fraudulent detection of Defender's discovery,
after clicking no updates and turning them of opting out of microsoft updates
I found the KB and thre updates, where did they come from is a good question,
also it did not update my Windows Defender it still responds the same, unable
to update and same error code 0x80240029, well that's a bust, I repeated same
steps, no more updates, because I seem to have them already, but Windows
Defender does not accept update to its version, I saw where the version
should have changed just as other posts indicated but what gives now? No
update after successfully downloading and seemingly successful installation,
it says it is in there but Windows Defender doesn't know it, even after a
restart. Any one experience that occurring? What I ended up with is: Windows
Defender Version 1.1.1505; Engine Version: 1.1.2306.0; Defenition Version:
1.16.2431.9...Still same error code after requesting Windows Defender to
update!!!
