Is there a difference between the Windows Defender AV bad stiff scan and
those performed by Live OneCare and safety.live?

No, that's not correct. Windows Live OneCare is a Microsoft protection
package for sale. It runs on your computer just as other packages do.

See http://www.windowsonecare.com/

To its_my_dime: Windows Defender is an anti-spyware program, and does *not*
include any anti-virus protection, not any of the others features of Windows
Live OneCare. See the link cited above.

hey, its your dime, but now a days we could use "all" the help that we can.
Its a malware war on global porportions out there and it aint pretty when
your computy gets hit....

yeh, didn't mean to be facetious. I used one care for a while, but was
never impressed with it.....so I don't push it onto others...

These programs are supposed to work effectively if your system clock is
correct!.
