Windows Live OneCare

Can anyone help me with the issue of Windows Defender and Live OneCare? When
I downloaded a recent Live OneCare upgrade I realized that it had
uninstalled Defender as part of the process. I wanted to keep Defender as a
backup as Live OneCare is still only in the Beta stage. Any suggestions?

OneCare includes Windows Defender. It may have replaced your old install of
Windows Defender but it should have added a new one. If it did not,
reinstall OneCare.

Chris, you cannot keep an independent install of Windows Defender PLUS the
copy that OneCare installs. OneCare is a package of Windows Defender,
antivirus protection, some performance tools and a backup/restore tool.
