Microsoft Live OneCare vs other AV, Registry Scan, etc. programs

Microsoft is trying to take over the AV, registry cleanup, computer cleanup
and similar program business.

So, if for the moment, we can dispense with the anti-Norton comments, how do
we rate the Microsoft programs (including Defender, live onecare and
safety.live) against programs that have been on the market for years?

Is Microsoft good enough to replace these programs? If not, do you think it
will be in the future?
