Defender reinstllation in Vista

Hello,
I searched here, but haven´t found any solution. I uninstalled Defender from
my vista and when I want to install it again, it says: " You don´t need to
install this software, bec. WD is included in vista " and installation process
ends.

Please could you give me any solution, which works?

Thanks,
Adam

How did you uninstall Defender?

If you open the security center, does it say that you have antispyware
installed?

If you run Windows Defender from the Start menu, what happens?

How did you un-install it? That's not an option generally available
through Add/Remove in Vista as I understand it.

You could try this KB article, although I'm not sure it's available yet in
optional software updates or even if it's the full install, since I'm still
running XP. Let us know how you make out.

I think, I uninstalled it through Add/remove programs, it was cca 2 weeks
ago,so I don´t remember it exactly.

When I open sec. center, I don´t have in antispyware section WD as a choice.

When I run WD from Start menu, it writes me error " 0x800106ba To start the
service restart your PC bla bla bla... "

On April 11, Microsoft issued, via an optional Windows Update update--a
revision to Windows Defender on Vista.

If you go to Windows Update, and do a full scan, does it offer you this
optional update? If so, I'd install it and see whether that does the trick.

I have on win update only KB915597 from 19.4.07 as a choice and when I click
on download,I get this message:

Error found:
Code 80070003

I can´t find anywhere the WD update you mentioned - where can I get it?
