Defender Constantly Challenges a Safe Application

One of the applications I like to run is Dimension 4, which synchronizes my
computer with a time server. Windows Vista also does this, but not frequently
enough for me (I like to check every 15 minutes so I am no more than one or
two seconds off the exact time).

I've been using D4 for about 9 years and I know it is safe. But Defender
challenges the application. When it does, I click on "Permit". Fifteen
minutes later, I notice that Defender is again challenging it, so I again
click to Permit the application. And fifteen minutes again, another
challange. Doesn't Defender remember what I have allowed and what I have
denied?

I would like this behavior of Defender to stop. And since I allow my
computer to report back to the MS Defender team, it would seem by now that
they would know that this is a safe application, and would have allowed it on
all computers. But they haven't.

Can somebody tell me how to stop Defenders behavior?

Hi, Russ:
I don't have the answer to your question but I have a question for you:
"What is the urgency to have your computer time correct within two (2!!)
seconds?"
Does the internal clock of your computer not do the job? Moreover, why is it
necessary to be this accurate? Just curious...

Hello Russ,

I think you may have to work at excluding it from the scan, as an interim
measure. Tools, Options, scroll down to Advanced options, and fill the box,
by adding the full path and file name to the Tools/Options/ do not scan box,
hit the add button, and Save.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

Thanks, Engel.

I have done as you suggested and will wait to see if it works. I'm not sure
how I didn't see this option earlier as I actually searched for something
like this. I guess I must have missed the scroll.
