Defaults share is missing

Sirs,
We have some Windows 2000 Professionals connected in a
workgroup. While accessing some of the mechines through
my network places it gives an error "Server is not
Configured for Transactions". While I investigating I
undrstand that the Default shares has been deleted(IPC$,
C$ etc). Because these shares anyone cannot be deleted I
suspects some virus in my mechines. Also I am not able
create these shares through computer management. So
anybody have any idea about what virus it may be effected
and how it can cure it? Also how I can re-establish the
default shares? Pls help me in this regard

To resolve this issue, I would suggest you to reinstall the file and print
sharing service. Also, I would suggest you to reconfigure the workgroup
settings and move all computers to a different workgroup name. For example,
if the current workgroup name is "Group1" change the workgroup name to
"Group2" and move all computers to this workgroup and check if the problem
is resolved.
