Default Share Problem, please help!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

I have two machines up in the same workgroup, one in
Windows98, the other Windows 2000. I keep getting the
IPC$ (default share) prompt to enter a password when I
try to share a drive off the 2k machine to the 98. I did
the fix in this article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;314984

But it still didn't work. The fix disabled everything
except the C$ share. Any help and or workaround for this
situation?

I know that if i upgrade the machine to 2000 or XP, the
problem will go away - but I'm just looking for another
option.

create a local user account on your win 2k machine for the
win 98 machine user

on your win 2k machine:
start > program > admin tools > computer management >
system tools> local users and group > user > action > new
user

where the user ID and password is the one your used to
ligon the win 98 machine
