Win-98 to W2k Networking

Thomas

I am having a problem getting a Win-98SE machine, to
connect to a shared folder and printer on a Win-2k Pro
machine.

Every time I attempt to connect to the shared folder, I
get a message stating that authentication is required for
access to IPC$ share. The share I have created on the W2k
machine is called 'Laughlin-C', but Win-98 does not seem
to be able to see that share, but keeps trying to connect
to IPC$. I have tried my administrator password, but it
does not work.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks!

You'll need to make sure whatever users accounts appear on your 98 PC's are
also created on the Win2K PC.
