Default Contacts Folder

I need to change the default folder Contacts are stored in. Using Outlook
2003 linked to a 2003 Exchange Server, I can change the default folder to a
Public Folder and all contacts will automatically save to that folder.

Using Outlook 2003 linked to a 2007 Exchange Server, it doesn't work. The
settings I can find appear to be the same.

Does anyone have any ideas?

How exactly did you change the "default" contacts folder to one in the
<Public Folder> group? Default folders by definition are located in the
default <mailbox> store (whether PST or Exchange). To put it another way -
the "default" contact folder is located in the same store (folder group) as
your Inbox and cannot be changed. The <mailbox> store is completely
different from the <Public Folders> store so what settings are you referring
to, what exactly are you doing (detailed steps), and what messages are you
getting during the process?

Just to make sure we're both using the same language - an Exchange based
<Mailbox> is not part of <Public Folders> and never has been. Is the problem
you are having simply that you can't connect to your Exchange 2007 server
altogether? If yes, that's really a question for your Exch admin in terms of
settings that should be used for the Exch 2007 server.
