My Question is which server(s) should be Domain Controller
(s), which should be a Member Server, and why?
I have two servers #1 Dual XEON 2 gig RAM, hosting a
Database, (this server will become a W2K server with
Terminal Sevices) #2 a P4 2.4 with 1 Gig RAM (this will
be a W2K server).
THANKS

Hi,

I'd say the most powerful server be used for the database and that it
should be a member, the other one could be a domain controller. However,
if you've only got two servers you may need to allow them both to be DCs
so you've got replication. A dual XEON may not give much advantage for
databases though, unless your DBMS supports dual processor operation and
can take advantage of the XEON's extensions.

Good question I'll ask the Db crew these things, ofcourse
I could also put another server in for replication say
another P4.

I used to run a network with one NT4 PDC, but I had excellent disaster
recovery - if you don't have this or can't have downtime, a replication
partner may be a good idea...
