DBX

Recently I asked for a converter for DBX to text.

DbxConv - DBX to MBOX converter by Ulrich Krebs

was recommended. Seems to work well. Thanks!

Could we go a bit farther? Is there one that will also transfer the
pictures imbedded in some posts to be readable to the text reader. All I
get with DbxConv is a couple pages of meaningless garbage for each picture.
Or is that asking for too much?

Depends...
Are you after newsgroup posts or emails?
I think DBXTract could do that (Google, can't recall addy).

Emails but would like both. I did my inbox (OE) that has 12,309 KB in it
and the output is 1,260 KB. Put into MS Word. It shows only 3 emails out
of a couple dozen and pages and pages of

I assume the garbage is a picture but it may be the rest of the emails for
all I know.

Text "readers" (word processors) can't read graphics
unless you import them manually. What you see is
the image in mime 7bit format.

Could try .eml format and see if you can import that.
