hated DBX files

I have DBXtract ver 3.9 and I'm not really satisfied with it. I see
DBXtract ver 5.1 is available for 5 bucks but it still doesn't do what I
want.

I want to back up all my DBX files into a format that Word or WordPerfect
can read and I want to do the whole directory like "inbox" at once. I
want
it to print the header, date and the text under it, throw in a couple line
returns and move on to the next header and text. It can stop at the
bottom
of that directory and I will start it on the next directory below it.

I can't see where that would be complicated but I haven't found it yet.
If
OE can read the things, I don't see why it can't put it out to another
file
sequentially doing all of them in one setting. Yes, I know I can do them
one at a time with copy's and paste. That isn't the modern computer way.

Try:

DbxConv - DBX to MBOX converter by Ulrich Krebs

Description

This program will extract the messages from an Outlook Express (5.0 -
6.0) mailbox and convert it either to the standard mbox or the Outlook
Express eml format. The advantage of saving your mail in mbox format is,
that it's a plain text format, which can be read by many mail-clients.
Converting to eml format is a convenient way to re-import the messages
into Oulook Express.

The handling of eml export is a little bit smarter than the one offered
by Outlook Express itself. Outlook Express will overwrite messages with
same sender and subject, while DbxConv enumerates the messages, so you
can be sure none is lost due to conversion.

All I see is ..... "I want, I want, I want"

You have poor vision. Would desire, need, require, wish, be more pleasing
to your visual senses?

Exporting messages: messageparser (www.mparse.com).
Preview a list and exporting: woe5extract (http://macallan.club.fr).

Hands-on method:
- open a folder with windows explorer
- in OE select the messages you want to export
- press forward as attachment(s), a new message pops up
- select all attachments
- drag&drop them to windows explorer
- close the new message (no need to send or save) and close OE
