where is this DB9 port on the Dell 4600c? I'm trying to hook up a GPS that has no usb connector

Many newer computer do not have a DB9 serial port. You can
buy a PCI card with those legacy ports if you really need it
or you can buy a more modern GPS.

You should have one serial port on the 4600c, perhaps you
are using it for something already.

A DB9 is an external 9 male PIN communications port
located on the back of your PC. It should be next to or
beside the paralle port.

There's the url with a picture of the back of the Dell 4600C (either put
the url all on one line or just Google for "serial port Dell 4600C?"
and you'll get the page). The description says there is a serial port,
but I don't see one in the admittedly small picture. What does Dell
say?

On that page, under Tech Specs, they list the I/O ports. No serial port is
mentioned. (Only Serial ATA, which is completely different)
