when I try ti install sp2, about halfway through it says it encountered an
error and connot install sp2. when I try to install office 2003 again, it
says I don't have permission. I have installed it before though. this all
started afterI got a virus.

Are you logged on as "administrator" or an account with admin permissions?
That would account for the "Don't have permssion" error when installing
Office 2003.

As to the "can't open database" error I don't know what to suggest.
