it keeps shutting down my control pannel and my computer - i deleted the real
player files which i thought to be causing this (in safe mode), but it still
won't let me open them.. what do i do?

Hello,

You can change the options for DEP by doing the following. Press Win Flag +
Pause break key (if not right click on my computer and select properties) >
Go to the 'Advanced Tab' > Under Performance options click 'Settings' > Go
to DEP tab > Here you can turn on DEP or turn it off.

If the problem is only causing control panel and my computer to close down
then you might want to select 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services
except those I select:' and check Windows Explorer (I think the error you
get is probably for 'explorer.exe').
