I have received this following message when trying to record onto a disc:-
Files on this CD-Rom drive are read only. You cannot copy or move files
over
to this CD-Rom drive. Also, that that D:\ is not accessable - incorrect
function. I can read the discs though.

Can anyone help please?

Firstly do you have Roxio Easy CD Creator installed, there is a patch
availble, which I believe is available from Roxio's website.

If you do not have Roxio Easy CD Creator installed then please post again
because there are other things we can try to fix the problem.

Try right clicking on the drive, select properties, select the recording tab
and then tick enable CD recording on this drive.

Let me know if that helps ?

In addition it can be upperfilters and lowerfilters gone corrupted...

Sorry Andy, tried this first. Somehow, the drive icon disappeared, but was
able to get it back. The drive now reads the cd-rom but cannot record.

Hi Galen,

When trying to record onto a writable disc, receive this message:- "There is
no disc in the drive", even though there is.

And did you try the information at the page?

Yes Galen,
But, it still not working. You should be able to erase a disc, if it is
rewritable but cannot do this, as there is no erase this disc section!

Hi Galen,
Went back to the items you mentioned. Only found upper filters, which was
deleted. Now have the recording box on the cd drive box and is set to record
discs but, still receive message that "there is no cd in the drive".

I'm given to thinking that it's died. Return it to the vendor if still under
warranty or replace it if not. (You can also try it in another PC if you'd
like.)
