Hi, I by mistake Cut instaed of Copy a folder to a floppy which is now
unreadable, does anyone know how I can recover the cut file?

Thanks
Shaun

Shaun,

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but unless it just happened and you
haven't copied or cut anything else since and are still logged in, there
isn't a way to recover it. Check your Clipboard anyway, located at:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe

Maybe if a clipboard file was saved prior but he didn't save any file. Worth
a try I guess though.

Sorry, didn't realize you meant a floppy recovery. Way better chance doing
that I think.

No problem. Can see why it might cause problems, though, this cutting and
pasting. Not entirely intuitive.

Cut and paste some text and it remains in the clipboard, after pasting. Cut
and paste a file and it doesn't.

Copy some text and it remains in the clipboard after pasting. Copy a file
and it remains in the clipboard, after pasting.

So it's understandable why this might be a source of confusion.

Also, if it's not been too long, since you've deleted the file, in terms of
computer usage, you might be able to recover the file from the drive, from
which the file was originally "cut"

eg entering the filename into this program, for the drive in question

Hi Guys thanks for the advise but unfortunately no luck.
If there is anyone with any other suggestions I'd be only happy to try them
out.
We can rule out floppy restoration completely.
Thanks

It may be in the swap file. Take drive to another computer and search your swap.

Taking the computer to a recovery specialist, would be another possibility,
but it probably wouldn't be cheap and there would be no guarantee of
success.
