customize location of desk top icons

I want to move the icons to a custom location I select. When I do so, they
move back to the grid after logging of and back on. I have done this before
but can't seem to figure it out again. Recently my customized arrangement
defaulted back to a grid order. The options offered by mouse right click are
not what I am looking for.
 
Go to the following website and scroll down to Line 188, right side. Click the "Add save and restore desktop layout to menu" link to download the .zip file. Unzip the file and double click the "iconlayout.vbs file to run the utility. This will add a "Save desktop icon layout" and "Restore desktop icon layout" to the right click context menu for the desktop.
