Desktop icons keep re-positioning themselves

How do I stop the icons from moving at each log on? I have lock to grid
turned on, but not auto arrange. Seems to have occured since downloaded
newest version of Internet Explorer. What could be causing this?

I feel for you, but can offer no help. I have had this problem twice and
no one here had any good suggestions. Both times it eventually stopped.

I think I found it! I had a backup of the hard drive that was previous to
installing Internet Explorer V. 7.0. All is well now.
