Custom Animation

I use PowerPoint 2003.

I have a large slide show where I had input customised animations on a few
slides. To save time I then went into slide master and added standard
animations for the rest of the slides. I ran the slideshow and found that
not only was it applying the initial custom slide options but also the master
custom slide options first. I thought slide master would only apply the
custom animations on slides that had not already been customised is this not
the case?

Is there anyway I can switch off the master slide custom animations to
retain the original animations for certain slides? As when I have tried the
master option is dimmed and does not allow me to remove. Or can you suggest
another method to acheive the same?

Custom animations ofn the master will apply to all slides including those
that already have animation.

Fix - RIGHT click on the grey animation and choose > copy effects to slide

Then remove it

What John said, and...

What you might want to do is have two master slides that are identical
except that one has animations and the other does not. That way, you can
apply the master with animations to slides you want the master animations
and the master without animations to slides you don't want the master
animations.
