Custom Animation

I am trying to do a custom animation, but I do not want to do the whole line.
I would like to simply leave a word out of a sentence, then click to make
the word appear. How do I do this?

Unfortunately, PPT can't animate just one word in a textbox. You'll have to
put the words into separate textboxes and animate as appropriate.
