custom animation vs. transition effects

What is the difference between custom animation and transition effects? When
would they be appropriate, and when would they be inapropriate?

Hello Thomas

A Custom Animation is used to animate any of the elements on your slide
including text, graphics, charts, etc. Usually SuperPresentationMan applies
custom animations to add emphasis during a slide.

A Transition is used when changing from one slide to another (often this
transition may appear to be animated). You can also use transitions to
differentiate one part of the presentation from another, or highlight a
particular slide.

Tip: Both Custom Animations and Transitions can detract from your message if
used excessively.

Have fun
