Custom animation between different versions

I use PPT 2003 at home, but my school's version is only 2002. I've noticed
some different custom animation effects available on the newer version. If I
were to present this presentation at school using Powerpoint 2002, would the
new effects still work?

Yes, they will work. The animations are the same in PPT 2002 and 2003.

But your presentation will not be displayed correctly on a computer with PPT
2000 or 97. You would have to use the 2003 PowerPoint Viewer in that case.
