Cursor disappears mid-typing, have to click mouse to reactivate wi

My computer is driving me nuts. For about the last month, every 20 few
seconds or so the bright blue frame of the window I'm in turns light blue and
I lose the cursor. I can't type when this happens until I click the mouse.
Then the cursor comes back and the frame turns bright blue again. I went into
the cursor box & turned the blink rate down to nothing. None of this seems to
help. It's driving me nuts.

Anyone heard of this? Any ideas on how to fix? Maybe it is my computer and
not the s/w?
I'm running Windows XP.

Hi Donna,

According to others replies from similar posts, TUI helped
and this behavior occurred after installing XP-SP2. Others have claimed the
issue was between using an USB to PS2 adapter for keyboard/mouse. Others
claim it was due to Mail Pro (while writing messages, etc), BlueTooth and
wuauclt.exe to name a few.

If the latter: The MS one listed in your System32 folder checks
occasionally for new MS updates (depending on your options) the other one
could possibly be a virus, Troj/Cult-B, etc.

Suggestions:

Run Ad-Aware SE, Spybot and HijackThis:

Note: Update each program, once installed, before running.

Thanks again Kelly...... you wouldn't believe what the problem was ~ so
simple! I decided to check all the plugins at the back of the computer, and
sure enough, my mouse wasn't securely plugged in. All of the pins were
definitely NOT making a connection! Plugged it in good and tight, and problem
solved. Should have done that first. I hope someone else who runs into this
problem can fix theirs as easily!
