Ctrl-Alt shortcuts still try to invoke uninstalled programs

D

Dazed

Using XP Home - over the years I've installed programs, applied
shortcut keys to them, and later uninstalled some of them. Now, while
the system will let me apply (say) ctrl-alt-T to a startmenu shortcut,
when I do strike this key combination it tries to search for and invoke
the original target (now long gone).

What mechanism is available to make old shortcuts go away?

Thanks -

For a freeware solution, you may use "Shortcut Key Explorer".

Their Hotkey Detective utility is pretty handy at finding these keys but
they require a paid subscription to access the download. You can search
the net for "hotkeyd.zip" and you will find it somewhere else.
