cropping pictures in WinXP Powerpoint 2002

Hi,
I have successfully cropped pictures inside powerpoint before, but I have
been given a powerpoint and asked to work on it and I'm not allowed to crop
any of the pictures (the crop tool is grayed out when I select the
individual pictures). The trouble is, they desparately need cropped! The
form I normally work with is .jpg. Could it be that these are not that
format, and they need to be?

Thanks in advance,
DL

Right click one of the pictures and see whether one of the options is "Format
AutoShape". I suspect that the creator may have used Insert > Picture > New
Photo Album, which inserts each picture as the fill of a rectangle. That would
explain why they can't be cropped.

okay, Sonia, you are correct. They used Photo Album.
At least now I understand that limitation. Since I have the individual
pictures (about 200), is there a way to import them and still be able to
crop?
