Cropping Pictures in Photo Album

Using Office XP Powerpoint and the Insert Picture Photo Album option
This does a terrific job of inserting lots of pictures but once they are inserte
I cannot CROP the picture. This is extrememly irritating since I used to b
able to do this with my older version of Powerpoint. ANY IDEAS?????

Hi,

The pictures are inserted as the background to autoshapes, and cannot be
cropped. Cut the image and paste special back as something like png, and
then you can crop it.

Glen's way is the best, but I have also just placed masking blocks over
sections of the pictures in the past. It is the lazy way, but sometimes
time to do it right is just not available.

If this is something that you feel should be changed, drop MS a note on the
wish line.

It seems to me like they are collecting ideas for the next version now. The
right ears may be yours for the talking.

In addition to the other suggestions, there are a couple of third-party
addins for batch importing pictures which don't use the autoshapes (so
you can crop as you wish). http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00050.htm
