Cropping circle to arc

I have an oval but I only want 1/2 of it to display without redrawing the whole thing.
How do I crop it?

I know two work arounds.

1. Create the oval and then put a white box over it to cover half.
2. Create the oval in Microsoft Paint and crop.

v-virkel,

Sometimes it's easier to create a piechart with values of 1 and 1 (e.g. 50%
in each segment)

Then tell powerpoint to ungroup the piechart...you then have two halves (or
1/2 ovals) to play with. You can rotate them and color them.
