When I am typing an e-mail, when I hit the tab key, the
screen switches to another screen that is open. It didn't
do this before. When I try to tab down, the screen
changes to another open screen. The only way to avoid
this is to close everything except the screen I'm typing
in. Any suggestions?

-Pick up your keyboard
-turn it upside down
-gently tab it to your desk
-clean up everything that fell out of it
-place the keyboard back on your desk
-try the tab key again

I believe you had a stuck alt-key ;-)

(sorry for being nasty but ths happens way too often with my users at work
and this it what I tell them then)

This appeared to be a bug in either Windows 95 or 98
(can't remember). I remember it came and went on its
own. The solution is a reboot of your computer. You may
want to try closing Word and the document management
system if you have one (this may work). However, if
you're in a crunch, you may want to use the CONTROL and
TAB keys at the same time to give you the tab that you
need and keep you in the same window. This disappeared
when we went to Windows XP. Hope this helps you. Good
luck. V
