Creating a Remote Desktop or VPN Connection for XP

I would like to find a way to connect to my computer at work from my computer
at home.

My work computer has Windows XP Home and my home computer has XP PRO.

I use DLS at home and cable at work.

We have about 10 computers at work that are all networked together in a
WORKGROUP called WORKGROUP.

The Hostname: d***-**-198.commercial.cgocable.net for our internet provider
at work is.

My computer is MAINOFFICE on the WORKGROUP.

The IP address appears to be the same on all the computers at work
216.***.**.198.

You need something like UltraVNC if you want to remotely access/control a XP
Home box or upgrade to XP Pro and use Remote Desktop.

I suggest you contact the work network admins about this to make sure your
not violating company policy by connecting an untrusted system (your home
PC) to the work trusted network.

Ok then use UltraVNC unless you want to upgrade to XP Pro...

http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/

You would need to forward TCP Port 5900 through the firewall to your work
PCs static LAN IP address. Call using the public IP of the firewall.
